Dunakey & Klatt PC represents insurance carriers in defending professional negligence, medical malpractice, dental malpractice, motor vehicle personal injury claims, motor vehicle property damage claims, governmental sector and municipal defense claims, errors and omissions, and general personal injury claims. Dunakey & Klatt PC provides services to a variety of insurance carriers who provide insurance coverage to health care providers, governmental entities, commercial institutions and individuals.
At Dunakey & Klatt we are ever cognizant of the importance of, and demand for legal defense that is both effective and cost-effective. We are willing to adapt to the varying needs of the insurance carriers and are willing to assist them in developing innovative methods of providing services. We have, therefore, made it our commitment to provide defense representation that is result-oriented, yet streamlined and cost-conscious. Depending on the needs of the insurance companies, we can handle defense work on either an hourly or predetermined fee contract.
Team effort. At Dunakey and Klatt, we believe in a team approach to each insurance matter submitted to our firm for representation. A single attorney and legal assistant are assigned to manage each file. If a matter proceeds to trial, this team provides effective representation at that proceeding. However, we strongly feel that each case may make demands upon various areas of the law and specialization. Consequently, that litigation team will enlist the support of other attorneys and paralegal staff to provide knowledgeable and efficient representation in each matter, as needed.
Communication. Dunakey and Klatt also recognizes that insurance carriers today require prompt and frequent communication to evaluate claims, set reserves, and develop strategy for defense of claims. We recognize that insurance carriers frequently require status reports on pending litigation. These reporting requirements are taken very seriously by our firm not only because they serve insurance carrier and client needs, but also because they require the defense team to assess the case and provide more efficient services.
Organization. Dunakey and Klatt has developed an elaborate system of calendaring the numerous deadlines and activities which are required to be performed in each case. This enables our firm to handle a large volume of cases in a cost efficient manner. We have developed dual systems, both electronic and paper, to monitor these deadlines and activities.
Experience. Our attorneys have over 50 years of collective experience in defending insurance claims. Attorney Timothy Boller is a member of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, Iowa Defense Council Association and the Defense Research Institute. Attorney David Odekirk is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, we have hired associates who have focused on litigation as their primary area of specialization.
Technology. Dunakey and Klatt recognizes that technology is indispensable to servicing its clients in the insurance defense industry. At our firm, technology is the primary medium for maintaining quality control, speedy communications, accurate data, and efficient billing. We use a variety of software to ensure that we communicate in a timely and accurate manner with our clients, track all files in progress, prepare documents as required, prepare bills and pay vendors. We can communicate with our clients and insurance carriers in all varieties of mediums. |
